Objective: Information about the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent and adult mental health is growing, yet the impacts on preschool children are only emerging. Importantly, environmental factors that augment or protect from the multidimensional and stressful influences of the pandemic on emotional development of young children are poorly understood. Methods: Depressive symptoms in 169 preschool children (mean age 4.1 years) were assessed with the Preschool Feelings Checklist during a state-wide stay-at-home order in Southern California.

This paper supports SDG 3 and 10 by highlighting that stress, anxiety, depression, work overload, and burnout rates were higher among health-care workers of minority ethnic origin (Black and Latinx) in the USA during the COVID-19 pandemic than among their White counterparts. These findings demonstrate an urgent need to address these factors through structural reforms in order to better support overworked and undervalued health-care workers.

Rapid and sensitive detection of hepatitis B virus by lateral flow recombinase polymerase amplification assay
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major public health priority. In the present study, a lateral flow strip combined with the recombinase polymerase amplification (LF-RPA) assay was developed and evaluated for rapid HBV detection. A primer/probe pair targeting the conserved region of the HBV genome was designed and applied to the LF-RPA. TheRPA was achieved at the isothermal temperature of 39℃ for 30 min, and the RPA products were detected using the LF test. DNA extraction, RPA reaction and endpoint detection will take about 70 min.

Consequences of Female Genital Mutilation on Women's Sexual Health – Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Background: Female genital mutilation (FGM) can leave a lasting mark on the lives and minds of those affected. Aim: To assess the consequences of FGM on women's sexual function in women who have undergone FGM compared to women who have not undergone FGM. Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted from 3 databases; inclusion and exclusion criterions were determined. Studies included adult women having undergone FGM and presenting sexual disorders assessed by the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results: Of 129 studies, 5 that met the criteria were selected.

Food intake, growth, and expression of neuropeptides regulating appetite in clown anemonefish (Amphiprion ocellaris) exposed to predicted climate changes
The clown anemonefish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a common model species in studies assessing the impact of climate changes on tropical coral fish physiology, metabolism, growth, and stress. However, the basic endocrine principles for the control of food intake and energy homeostasis, under normal and elevated sea temperatures, in this species remain unknown. In this work, we studied food intake and growth in clown anemonefish reared at different temperatures and with different food availability.
Performance of intensive care unit severity scoring systems across different ethnicities in the USA: a retrospective observational study

This Research paper supports SDGs 3 and 10 by assessing ethnic differences in SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity among hospital workers. The findings showed that Black people had more than double the likelihood of SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity compared with White people, independent of age, sex, socioeconomic factors, and hospital role.

Compared to other climate regions of the world, Mediterranean regions are likely to experience more severe effects of climate change as rainfall decreases and temperatures increase. Global climate change models predict a reduction in rainfall and rise in the temperature of rivers in South Africa's Cape Fold Ecoregion (CFE) – a Mediterranean region in the south-west corner of the country.
