The food industry have therefore shown interest in assessing the sustainability of their activities, however, most sustainability analyses are currently done after the food product is designed. The food industry can use methodologies and tools to support sustainability assessments. Sustainability assessments should be undertaken in the first stages of the new product development process.

This Article addresses SDGs 3, 12, and 13 by modelling the impact of placing health as a central focus of climate policies. The findings showed that compared with current policies, a scenario in which policies were consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs substantially reduced air pollution-related deaths, diet-related deaths, and deaths due to physical activity. They showed that adopting an even more ambitious health-focused climate policy would result in further reductions in deaths as well as mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and harmful pollutants.
