This paper introduces the Innocenti framework. This framework conceptualizes the dynamic linkages between the elements of the food system, and highlights the importance of comprehensively looking at the different determinants, influences, and drivers that shape food systems for children and adolescents.

A child-centred food system makes healthy diets available, affordable, appealing and aspirational. To achieve this a package of actions is needed to coherently reorient food systems towards healthy diets for children; this paper presents a 6-step assessment to identify and prioritize these actions.
