Slum residents and migrants will require unique attention throughout the pandemic. The human rights of people on the move must be part of the COVID-19 responses. Ultra-vulnerable populations’ lives, safety and dignity must be better prioritised. Lessons learned from COVID-19 in India can improve future emergency responses. A human rights-based and sustainable COVID-19 recovery plan will benefit us all.
This article addresses SDG 3 and 10 by characterising the spread of COVID-19 in Brazil, showing that existing socioeconomic inequalities, rather than age or health status, determined the initial course of the epidemic. Areas with high socioeconomic vulnerability were disproportionately affected, and these results suggest that targeted policies are needed to protect the most vulnerable groups.

This Article addresses SDGs 2, 3, and 10 by examining the effect of nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions on child and maternal dietary diversity in rural Odisha, India. The findings showed that combinations of nutrition-sensitive agriculture videos, nutrition-specific videos, and nutrition-specific participatory learning and action cycle meetings increased the proportion of children and mothers consuming a diverse diet compared with the control group.
