LexisNexis Legal & Professional has created a rule of law impact tracker using a range of data sets. The rule of law impact tracker is an interactive tool which quantifies the relationship between the rule of law and social and economic development. The rule of law plays a vital part in underpinning all of the SDGs and in particular the targets of SDG 16 to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
Contributing to SDGs 8 and 16, the Interactive Map for Business of Anti-Human Trafficking Organisations includes information on the organisations that work with the business sector to combat modern slavery.
Media has an important role to play in tracking progress towards the SDGs. The Human Rights Around the World and In the Media News Tracker provides a valuable tracking tool to chart the SDGs and their progress across the globe. This tool provides insights that will benefit all of the SDGs and in particular the targets set for SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
LexisNexis partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) to develop the Automated Delivery of Alerts on Missing Children Programme, known as ADAM. SDG 16.2 aims is to end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children and the ADAM Programme provides a simple solution to engage citizens, businesses and organisations in finding missing children in the US.
Rights App

RightsApp is a free, quick reference guide to international human rights law. LexisNexis collaborated with the Australian Human Rights Commission to develop RightsApp, the world’s first mobile application that allows users to quickly and easily search international human rights conventions and declarations by topic, right and country. Providing information about human rights is a vital pillar of target SDG 16.10 to ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms.

LexisNexis Legal & Professional partnered with the International Bar Association to launch eyeWitness to Atrocities, an Android mobile phone app that allows users to report human rights atrocities. The free app enables citizens to contribute to bringing perpetrators to account for crimes against humanity and therefore contributes directly towards the advancement of SDG target 16.3 to promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all.

The Business for the Rule of Law Framework (B4RoL) was launched by the UN GC in June 2015, building on the work started by LexisNexis Legal & Professional and the Atlantic Council in 2013. The B4RoL Framework is a call to action and guide for businesses around the world in taking proactive, voluntary actions to support the rule of law in everyday operations and relationships. Engaging business in the rule of law is critical to SDG 16.3 to promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and SDG 17 Partnerships for the goals.
