New biologicals and biomaterials in the therapy of Alzheimer's disease

The most prevalent type of neurogenerative condition linked to dementia, based on the current situation, is Alzheimer's Disease (AD). There is now research being done on identifying disease pathways and creating treatment plans as a result of the rising prevalence of AD and the ineffectiveness of present medications. Biomaterials and biologicals are therefore also being used for this purpose. Proteins, blood, and other organic materials are examples of biologicals, which are substances produced by living things. Biomaterials, on the other hand, are substances designed specifically for use in biological applications. The following chapter provides a succinct review of the many biologicals and biomaterials, along with a few of the commonly utilized nanoparticles that are employed in AD therapy, such as curcumin-loaded nanoparticles, metal nanoparticles, and other organic nanoparticles. Finally, systems based on biomaterials for the industrial production of therapeutic cells and the difficulties associated with this strategy have been discussed.
