Focussing on SDGs 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure) and 11 (sustainable cities and communities), BEYOND 2020 endeavours to link the built environment sector to the SDGs.

International Built Environment Week (IBEW), to be held from 3 to 6 September 2019, is the most comprehensive event in Asia Pacific on the built environment.

This event primarily focusses on SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), exploring the technical and engineering challenges of addressing all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

RELX SDG Inspiration Day Delhi - Sustainable Cities: SDG 11, critical to the rest is taking place on 2 May, 2019 in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact India.

RELX held its fourth SDG Inspiration Day in Delhi to catalyse action on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This event took place at the iconic Imperial Hotel in partnership with Global Compact India, Responsible Media Forum and the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens. The theme Sustainable Cities: SDG 11, critical to the rest inspired rich discussion among participants from business, government, civil society and academia who explored the interconnection of SDG 11 with cross-cutting themes, such as health and the rule of law.

A total of 1.8–4.1 billion people are potentially exposed to heat stress due to lack of access to cooling energy systems. This study develops a comprehensive measure of energy access by introducing the dimension of space cooling. This research has direct implications for human health and wellbeing (SDG 3), and interacts with SDGs 7 (affordable and clean energy) and 11 (sustainable cities and communities).

This paper supports SDGs 9 and 11 (industry, innovation & infrastructure and sustainable cities & communities). To deal with the issues of urbanization such as traffic, pollution and waste, new information and communication technologies (ICT) and solutions coming from the Internet of Things (IoT), Edge, Cloud computing and Big Data are brought together to fulfill the vision of Smart Cities.
A tool to evaluate energy key performance indicators in a neighbourhood has been developed, linking overall climate goals to local measures. Contributing to SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy) and 11 (sustainable cities and communities), this research provides decision making support in energy planning.
The International Water Summit (IWS) is a global platform for promoting water sustainability in arid regions by bringing together world leaders, field experts, academics and business innovators to accelerate the development of new sustainable strategies and technologies.
