For the first time in its 50-year history, Earth Day will be celebrated on April 22 without marches, rallies, and festivals. There won’t be colorful banners carried down boulevards, people amplifying their messages through microphones, or vast beach clean-ups or tree-planting initiatives.
The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has upended daily life and transformed the potential of Earth Day.
But just because you can’t gather outdoors doesn’t mean you can’t take part in meaningful conversations, moments of solidarity, and acts of sustainability.
