This chapter details how global educational philanthropy contributes to worsening rather than ameliorating dire public problems. It suggests that the tendency toward supporting market based educational reform concentrators private governance over education and undermines public and democratic purposes of public education. The chapter includes close examination of how new forms of educational philanthropy that bring together digital capitalism and supra-national organization governance actively promote the quantification of affect to commercialize children's bodies and data producing activities. The chapter considers how existential threats facing humanity require a new direction for philanthropy.
