Alcoholic liver disease is one of the main causes of chronic liver disease worldwide, and it can present with a range of histological findings, including steatosis, steatohepatitis, and fibrosis. Symptomatic steatohepatitis or cirrhosis can present acutely as acute alcoholic hepatitis, which is associated with high morbidity and mortality.
