In accordance with the FDI Vision 2030 document which calls for urgent action on oral health, the principal goal of oral health professionals is to promote universal oral health for diseases that are largely preventable and/or treatable in the early stages.1 The provision of oral health care,2 in the form of prevention, therapeutic interventions, or long-term maintenance, creates pollution and a significant carbon footprint. As oral health care providers, we have an ethical and moral responsibility to manage the impact of our activities on the environment and ensure that we do this in a sustainable manner.3,4
