Chapter 2 - The evolution of equine-assisted services (EAS): horses are good for people

Writings throughout history have alluded to the connection between horses and humans. The terms used to describe this connection have changed over time. A recent recommendation for an overarching term is Equine Assisted Services (EAS) and is the term used throughout this chapter. Terminology, programming, research, and funding continue to evolve. As we move forward in this exciting and evolving field, there is one thing that continues to shine through: horses make a difference in peoples’ lives.
