This chapter is divided into two sections: energy efficiency in space heating and cooling and energy efficiency in hot tap water production. In the section about space heating and cooling the reader is first introduced to the fundamentals of thermal comfort and building physics. The subsection summarizes examples of possible measures when auditing space heating and cooling system systems before presenting nonenergy benefits when making modifications and investing in space heating and cooling. In the section about hot tap water production, the reader is first introduced to the fundamentals of hot tap water production after which a list of common measures are presented.
