This article discusses the pervasive influence of climate change on the health and nutrition of people globally, with a special focus on South Asian communities. It explores how food ecosystems are becoming inefficient in the plight of climate change, threatening to further push food insecurity and risk the lives millions of people, as well as inspects facets of health and nutrition in the wake of natural disasters. Climate adaptation and mitigation strategies aim at strengthening existing food systems and infrastructure of agro-ecosystems, to make them more resilient to the effects of climate-led adversities. The article concludes with suggestions on some effective and evidence based strategies which may help to address the above-mentioned concerns around ensuing climate change.
