Racial profiling and killings of Black persons in 2020 became a lightning rod to combat structural racism in health care. The use of race in clinical algorithms to assess kidney function spurred a passionate and intense debate. Understanding the facts, fuss, fuzziness and fiction is key to fixing the problem.
