Elsevier's new report, Biodiversity Research in 2024: a global perspective with a focus on Latin America, is an update on the global state of biodiversity research, which was published in May 2023, but this time with an additional focus on Latin America.
The report is timely and focused with the pivotal Biodiversity COP Conference taking place in Cali, Colombia from 21 October to 1st November 2024. Key conclusions of the new study are that Latin America is three times as active in biodiversity research than the world’s average and that biodiversity research has a significant impact on policy, with on average, 10% of biodiversity research is cited in policy documents.
