Assuring water quality and purity is extremely important because water is an essential material for human survival. Without water, life would not be possible. Rain is nature’s way of providing fresh water; however, rain is usually contaminated with various pollutants that we now put in the atmosphere. Our civilization has managed to pollute our surface water, and even groundwater; this necessitates purification of water for drinking.
