This paper seeks to contribute to pipeline leakage detection research through collecting and simulating leakage signals under different pressure strengths by combining experiments with numerical simulation. The findings point towards better detection in a real noise environment. Such research is vital in the context of increasing worldwide demand for water and insufficient water supply caused by pipeline leakage.
In 2023 the HPCC Systems Community Impact scholarship was announced as a part of an effort to support the Diversity & Inclusion focus areas at LexisNexis Risk Solutions. The HPCC Systems Community Impact Scholarship was launched in partnership with Scholarship America to provide two renewable $5,000 scholarships to female high school graduates from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds who plan to pursue a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) undergraduate degree at an eligible college.
This article aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The research focuses on the green synthesis of nanoparticles using biological entities, such as microorganisms and plants, through nanobiotechnology processes. The use of these environmentally friendly methods has the potential to revolutionize biomedical applications, including cancer detection and treatment, as well as agricultural applications for crop improvement. Furthermore, green nanoparticles show promise in energy production and storage, offering cost-effective and sustainable solutions for future energy demands.
Given that we are halfway to 2030, there is a greater need to accelerate our progress to SDGs. To the data gap, which is still a huge barrier for SDGs, Big Earth Data provide strong support to measure the status and trend of progress. Using Big Earth Data with global data acquisition and analysis capability, China can and should make more contributions to fill the data gap and give more data-driven suggestions for decision-makers for the world’s SDG efforts.
Knowledge of biological diversity is a major source of innovation. Collective intellectual property of traditional knowledge by Indigenous peoples and local communities is an important source of innovation and product development. This article investigates collective intellectual property systems on the traditional knowledge of Aspalathus linearis, also known as rooibos—an endemic plant from South Africa which is the basis of an important herbal tea industry. The article discusses how collective action and self-organization can generate collective intellectual property systems; indigenous peoples and local communities can develop these systems to protect their IP; how these systems can promote social justice and a more equitable distribution of benefits but can be sources of dispute between socio-economic groups and communities and can reproduce historical inequalities and power asymmetries.
In this context, the present study has a primary research objective: to develop a research agenda for entrepreneurial action, identifying key aspects related to STI and the SDGs, and to explore how both concepts are interconnected.
The results of this study, which looks at the emissions and performance of the ICE fueled by ethanol, are in line with SDGs 7 and 13. Regarding optimization and prediction, the distinctive combination of ANN and RSM encourages sustainable industrialization, more conscientious consumption, and more ethical production patterns. All these are crucial components of SDGs 9 and 12. To make refined decisions and achieve improved performance and emissions, this research can benefit engine producers and researchers. This alliance between scholars and industry stakeholders supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which also encourages knowledge-sharing to advance the SDGs as a whole.
This article tackles the issue of high energy consumption created by data centers. They find an immediate way to quickly mitigate some of the massive energy sink is by simply operating data centers at higher temperatures. As such, this article supports SDGs 9 (ensuring data centers that are key to current society are sustainable) and 13 (a rapid solution to immediately reduce fossil-fuel driven energy consumption).

UN's Summit of the Future 2024: Paving the Path for SDG Resources

In China, renewable energy technological innovation (RETI) is the core pathway to addressing climate change and achieving carbon neutrality. Using the dataset from 30 provinces in China during 2007–2018, this paper provides a detailed analysis of the moderating role of Intellectual Property Rights protection in RETI's impact on carbon emissions. A deeper understanding of the impact of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection on the carbon reduction effect of RETI can provide policymakers with more specific information to support SDG 7 and 13.
