Improved disability training for school bus drivers is needed to advance accessible student transport services. Engaging non-transport stakeholders has produced useful alternatives for accessible student transport services. Explaining the theoretical disability perspectives used in transport research could help to advance inclusive transport, addressing SDGs 4 and 10.
This article addresses SDGs 3, 4 and 5 and by analying longitudinal data from 1995 to 2012-13 on women working in academic medicine in the USA, highlighting that women reporting severe sexual harassment in the workplace were more, rather than less, likely to pursue career advancement and attain full professorship. During career advancement, increased exposure to men who abuse their position of authority, and greater resilience and awareness of these abuses following early-career experiences of sexual harassment, are speculated to be potential reasons for this observed association.

The KiDS project is a new collaboration designed to inform and teach staff, children and parents about diabetes management. Following trials in Brazil and India, the project has increased knowledge about diabetes, reflected through healthier food choices and support for physical activities at school. The results indicate that Health services should consider implementing lifestyle-intervention programs for people with metabolic syndrome to improve outcomes and prevent progression to chronic disease supporting SDGs 3 and 4.

By narrowing down the discussion on specific aspects of the SDGs that deserve particular attention, the special issue offers a nuanced perspective on the potential and limitations of the 2030 Agenda.

This paper contributes to the debate on the agency of the South in shaping global norms by focusing on the adoption of sustainable development as the consensus framework for the SDGs. Based on documentary and archival research, interviews with stakeholders, and direct participant observation of the SDG negotiations and consultations, the paper chronicles the ideas originating from the South in the emergence and subsequent evolution of the sustainable development concept and the adoption of the SDG.
