The immune disorders triggering the etiological mechanisms of depression are complex, and their biological effects involve multiple systems. Advances in clinical research provided new clues to the immunological mechanisms underlying the onset of depression, and continuous basic research provided a theoretical basis.

The diseased state in dolphins had metabolic consequences with a shift towards protein degradation. This may constrain the way cetaceans could cope with extra stressors (e.g., human disturbances). Provides insight to how we deal with conservation policies and the impact of stressors on population dynamics.

Felix A. Diawuo, Roland Teye Amanor, Chapter 2 - Need for pumped hydro energy storage systems, Editor(s): Amos T. Kabo-Bah, Felix A. Diawuo, Eric O. Antwi, Pumped Hydro Energy Storage for Hybrid Systems, Academic Press, 2023, Pages 23-41, ISBN 9780128188538

This chapter provides information on the benefits of pumped hydro energy storage as a means of providing consisent renewable energy power generation, offering power network management including load balancing and peak shaving, and grid stabilization with emphasis on frequency and voltage regulation. Additionally, the chapter highlights some of the different pumped hydro energy storage hybrid designs for both off-grid and grid-tied applications while the impact of climate change is discussed.
Background: Childhood traumatic events are risk factors for psychopathology, but large-scale studies of how childhood traumatic events relate to mental health and cognition in adulthood, and how the brain is involved, are needed. Methods: The associations between childhood traumatic events (such as abuse and neglect, and defined by the ‘Childhood Trauma’ questions in the UK Biobank database) and brain functional connectivity, mental health problems, and cognitive performance were investigated by a univariate correlation analysis with 19,535 participants aged 45–79 from the UK Biobank dataset.

This article advances SDG # 15 and SDG # 11 by looking at the impact captivity has on wild animals and help identify which species may be able to successfully transition to a captive environment.
This Commission supports SDG 3 by calling on all countries to both invest more and invest better in primary health care by designing their health financing arrangements in ways that place people at the centre and by addressing inequities first.
This paper supports SDG 3 by analysing the overall efficiency of tuberculosis spending and investigating associated factors in 121 low-income and middle-income countries between 2010 and 2019.
