This Article supports SDG 3 by estimating the burden of osteoarthritis, a major cause of adult disability. The study found that osteoarthritis is the seventh leading cause of years lived with disability worldwide among people older than 70 years. Years lived with disability attributable to osteoarthritis are likely to continue to rise, posing a large challenge to health systems, and necessitating increased focus on preventive and treatment measures.

Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Practice, How AI Technologies Impact Medical Research and Clinics

To harness the power and promise of AI in global health, adequate investment must be made in communication, computer systems, and supporting personnel to collect, curate, and manage the data necessary to enable benefits and minimize harm from the use of AI-related tools. In developed countries, this has either occurred or is underway. Developing countries run the risk of widening the digital divide if this does not occur. This chapter supports SDG3.
This chapter advances the UN SDG goals 15, 11, and 17 by reviewing ways for community members to take part in insect conservation. Particularly with the rise of social media and the popularity of new reporting apps, citizen science is an often overlooked, yet effective tool in monitoring insect biodiversity and invasive species.
