Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are pivotal components of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Primarily, they relate to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), aiming to promote social, economic, and political inclusion and ensure equal opportunities for all, irrespective of gender, age, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic status, or disability. Furthermore, diversity and inclusion relate to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and equitable quality education. SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) also embodies the values of diversity and inclusion, calling for equal pay for work of equal value and promoting safe and inclusive working environments. Ultimately, the pursuit of diversity and inclusion is indispensable for realizing a fair and sustainable world as envisioned by the SDGs.

Background: An inclusive health curriculum within undergraduate and continuing professional development programmes (CPD) should include issues related to people whom identify as LGBT+. Objectives: The aim of this systematic review was to examine the education and training requirements of undergraduate students and health professionals regarding the inclusion of LGBT+ health issues. Design: A systematic review of the available published empirical studies.
This chapter advances goals 3, 5 and 8 by examining how to balance a need for strong incentives for start-up innovation with the resulting increased inequality of incomes.
This study explores family planning services available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual clients in order to inform clinical and research strategies. Themes discussed actively contribute to SDG 10 (reduced inequalities) and SDG 3 (good health and well-being).

Background: Concurrent psychosocial problems may synergistically increase the risk of HIV infection (syndemics), representing a challenge for prevention. We aimed to evaluate the prevalence and associated factors of syndemics among men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW) enrolled in the Brazilian pre-exposure prophylaxis demonstration study (PrEP Brasil Study). Embracing gender equality, decent work and reduced inequalities are important to SDGs 5, 8 and 10. This article discusses how US workplace are becoming increasingly diverse, and organizations use this to create a competitive advantage.
In de Souza E Souza v Primark Stores Ltd, the employment tribunal awarded £47,433 to a transgender employee who suffered harassment and recommended that the employer adopt a written policy on how to deal with new and existing staff who are transgender or who wish to undergo gender reassignment. This advances goal 8 (decent work and economic growth), goal 10 (reduced inequalities) and goal 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions).

Forced migration is not a recent phenomenon, nor is the reality of the amount suffering of the displaced population fleeing from armed conflict. Finding housing for refugees has not only become an acute obligation for hosting countries but it is a situation predicted to continue, and possibly increase, in the future. This study is discussing and showing the results of the first phase of an ongoing project for designing and constructing an eco-cycle refugee shelter.

In the last decade, the number of women on corporate boards has increased slightly, but the prevailing minority status of women directors implies that they will continue to face social barriers. While prior research has largely focused on explaining social barriers (e.g., being categorized as an out-group member) to increase diversity and its negative consequences, how boards can avoid these obstacles remains unclear.
