Fossil fuel utilization as an energy resource is the main cause of CO2 emission; therefore, a new energy economic concept is required to achieve carbon neutrality to mitigate climate change impacts. Here, the authors propose a green-alcohol (green-ol) economy wherein green-ol, a major chemical used in CO2 recycling, can serve as fuel for land (e.g. ethanol) and air transport (e.g. butanol), and as a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC, e.g. methanol) for green hydrogen.

This content aligns with Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities by discussing the importance of promoting desired lifestyles among adults with severe autism and intellectual disabilities, and how the operations of many adult service agencies fail to promote individually desired lifestyles.

This article advances SDG # 13, 14, and 15 by arguing that ecosystem integrity is neglected but important for climate adaptation goals, and shows how linking ecosystem integrity to climate, biodiversity and sustainable development goals is crucial for optimal outcomes.
