Pride Month 2020 rainbow flag and hearts
Even though many workplaces remain 100% or mostly remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, employers should not miss this opportunity to boost morale and provide support to the LGBTQ community. Employers can create new and innovative ways to celebrate Pride and promote diversity, equality and acceptance, and in so doing promote SDGs 8 and 10.
This paper discusses the challenges in safely re-opening indoor sport centres and the measures already suggested by others to partly tackle these challenges. It also elaborates three potential additional measures and based on these additional measures, it suggests the concept of a certificate of equivalence that could allow indoor sports centers with such a certificate to re-open safely and more rapidly. It also attempts to stimulate increased preparedness of indoor sports centers that should allow them to remain open safely during potential next waves of SARS-CoV-2 as well as future pandemics. This contributes to SDGs 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 16.

Contributing to SDGs 10 and 11, this article explores how bus stop improvements are associated with changes in bus ridership and demand for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit service.
Assistive technology for the elderly has the ability to greatly enhance the experience of the elderly needing assistive technology. This book chapter addresses SDG 10 by covering the design of assistive technology including magnifying book contents, speaking electronic devices, alarms for doors and windows, smart alert bands, panic buttons, medication dispensers and reminders, Wander Gard, physiological parameters monitoring systems and smart home monitoring systems.
Furthering SDGs 5 and 10, this report aims to better understand the role gender plays in the global research enterprise and inspire evidence-based policy driven by powerful data. It examines research participation, career progression and perceptions across the European Union and 15 countries globally in 26 subject areas. The report concludes that while the participation of women in research is increasing overall, inequality remains across geographies and subject areas in terms of publication outputs, citations, awarded grants and collaborations.
