This Short Communication explored how to improve ethnic diversity in clinical trials through 16 focus groups with 158 participants from 21 ethnically diverse communitie. Despite recognizing the benefits of medical research, most participants had never been invited to participate in trials. The study also found that addressing women's specific cultural and practical concerns was essential for inclusive trial design, particularly regarding sensitive health topics and family dynamics within ethnically diverse communities.
