On Monday 24 August 2020 – at the beginning of World Water Week - RELX announced the winners of the 2020 RELX Environmental Challenge. Now in its 10th year, the RELX Environmental Challenge supports innovative solutions that improve sustainable access to safe water and sanitation where it is at risk, contributing to SDGs 1, 3, 6 and 10.

Viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, known as arboviruses, pose a significant threat to human life and are a major burden on many health systems around the world.
Passengers who require special assistance at airports and on aircraft represent one of the fastest growing demographics for aviation worldwide.
This study supports SDG 3 and 10 by showing increased mortality due to COVID-19 in Brazil’s mixed ethnicity and Black populations and regions with lower levels of socioeconomic development, highlighting the need to better protect these vulnerable groups from the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
