This Article addresses SDGs 2, 3, and 10 by examining the effect of nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions on child and maternal dietary diversity in rural Odisha, India. The findings showed that combinations of nutrition-sensitive agriculture videos, nutrition-specific videos, and nutrition-specific participatory learning and action cycle meetings increased the proportion of children and mothers consuming a diverse diet compared with the control group.

Open Access (OA) and the advent of access programs such as Research4Life have rapidly transformed the publishing landscape. In some ways, they have made strides in bridging the knowledge gap between high- and low-income countries. In other ways, they may present obstacles, so it’s important to ensure that a move towards open access doesn’t disadvantage low-income countries. This article contributes to SDGs 10 and 17.

Solar photovoltaics (PV) is an energy technology that is already contributing substantially to CO2 emissions mitigation. Here, the authors analyse the factors that lie behind the huge cost reductions of solar PV and identify innovations in the pipeline that could contribute to maintaining a high learning rate. Moreover, this work shows how widespread Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) - which are used to model decarbonization pathways compatible with the Paris Agreement – need to evolve to better reflect the role of solar PV in future low-carbon energy scenarios. This closely relates to SDG 7 and 13.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are widely regarded as the key to finally making private mobility clean, yet virtually no research is being conducted on their potential contribution to the expansion of impervious surfaces. This study aims to start a discussion on the topic by exploring three relevant issues: the impact of EVs’ operating costs on urban size, the space requirements of charging facilities, the land demand of energy production through renewables.
